Daniel is a rare breed – a hybrid of equal parts business, design, programming, and strategy – ready to change the world. He’s a professor at the School of Visual Arts, a writer on digital strategy with a book scheduled to launch in late 2010, a speaker at several design conferences across North America, and an all around web design nerd. Over the past decade he has worked with clients such as: 1% For The Planet, Adobe, BBDO, CosmoGIRL!, Dave Matthews Band, Google, Greenpeace, Live Earth, MTV, PBS, Phish, Rachael Ray, Sony Picture Classics, TBS, The Pixies, VH1, and XM Radio. In his free time he enjoys inspirational wanderings through the streets of NYC, single malt scotches, and evenings at the drive-in around the corner from his house in rural upstate NY.
Sabrina Schutzsmith

Armed with over a decade of non-profit management experience, Sabrina has worked with a number of regional and national organizations to help them secure grants, establish them as non-profit leaders and enhance their growth. Most notably, Services to Aid Families, Putnam ARC, Saint Francis Hospital, Women’s Expressive Theater (WET) and Rising Tide Initiative Sabrina’s passion for creating a bridge between donors and causes has helped her raise over $3 million in the past 4 years from federal, state, corporate and foundation grants like Ronald McDonald House Charities, Newman’s Own Foundation, Rite Aid, Verizon, Senator Saland, Target, Dyson Foundation, Congressman Walmart, Stewart’s Shop, United Way, Entergy, and more. Her knowledge of business and philanthropy provides an exciting foundation to the core values of Mark & Phil.
Steve Gordon
Branding Designer
Nationally-recognized, award-winning designer, creative consultant, speaker and author/creative copywriter, Steve specializes in identity, branding and strategic creative direction. He is the author of ’100 Habits for Successful Freelance Designers’ (Rockport Publishers), Steve’s work has been featured in many design industry publications and prominent annuals such as the LogoLounge, LogoLounge ‘Masterwerks’ series, ‘Logolicious’ and ‘Best of Business Card Design’ series.
Danielle Palumbo
Graphic Designer
Danielle Palumbo is making her start in the design world, armed with a strong basis in front-end coding and a variety of Wordpress projects under her belt. She prides herself in using these platforms to fill the individual needs of each client, no detail of which is too small to overlook. A proud recent graduate of the Graphic Design department at SUNY New Paltz, she has been involved in the creation of several local artist portfolios and a lot of team and organizational branding, and currently has work featured on a national retail level. In her spare time she enjoys walking the art filled streets of New Paltz and playing Ultimate Frisbee whenever she gets a chance.
Jason Nauta
Design Technologist
Jason has a varied background in design and web development. His extensive graphic and textile design abilities, coupled with his experiences working on everything from front-end scripting to back-end coding, allow Jason to marry the design and technology elements of web and application development. For the last 3 years, Jason has been honing his skills, working with several PHP-MVC frameworks, including Yii, Kohana, and MVC/CMS Silverstripe. A self-proclaimed nerd, Jason is never ready to stop learning; taking on new frameworks, techniques, and challenges every day. When he’s not working on a project, Jason can be found exploring new places and spending time with his 3-year-old son, Ayden.
Mia Hodgins

Mia is an experienced fundraiser who has a flare for grant writing/management. She has a passion for helping the underdog and empowering them to succeed. Her expertise in grant writing, research, and management has helped her secure funding for various non-profit organizations throughout New York State. Mia has raised funds from federal, state, corporate and foundation grants like the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, John. F. Wegman Fund, New York State Health Foundation, Marie & Joseph Wilson Foundation, Daisy Marquis Jones Foundation, and HUD.
Clayton Walter
Copywriter / PR
What began as a strange curiosity in “new media technologies” accompanied with a fervid love for words has since turned into an out-and-out SMM obsession for Clay. From tweets to likes (and all of the +’s in between) Clay has established himself as a lively up-and-comer in the Social Media realm. Clay has managed SM accounts as well as developed Competitive Social Analysis’s for several clients including HardKnight, Loehmann’s Designer Fashion, and Steuben Crystal. He has also worked as a copywriter/blogger on a number of accounts including Glenwood Apartments in NYC and MASTERMIND Board Games. In his free time Clay enjoys tossing on his sound-isolating Bose headphones and rocking out to either Mozart, Tupac, or Tim McGraw.
