BACK-END WEB DEVELOPER
Part-time/Contract
We are looking for an awesome programmer who loves working with PHP but also has a hankering for iOS development, server maintenance, and other programming languages like Ruby on Rails and Python. You’ll work with us to take programming projects from concept to launch, mostly using CMS’ like Drupal, CiviCRM, and WordPress. A healthy understanding and eagerness for concepting and creating mobile and web applications is also encouraged. Essentially, we want you to love the web and programming as much as we do.
Requirements:
- have an in depth knowledge of object-oriented PHP including at least one of the following: Zend Framework, CakePHP, or CodeIgniter;
- database experience with MySQL is required. Access, File Maker Pro, and NoSQL experience would also be awesome but not a necessity;
- knowledge of front-end scripting languages is also required. You don’t have to be an expert but you must be able to understand HTML, CSS, and Javascript;
- background experience in ASP .NET or Java is fine but you’ll be expected to use PHP on our projects;
- must have your own computer and software to get the job done;
- telecommuting is totally cool with us but you’ll need to be available via instant messenger, phone, and use apps like Basecamp and Git to keep on task and share files;
- ability to slice in Photoshop or Illustrator a plus;
- theming for Drupal / CiviCRM, WordPress, or Expression Engine a huge huge huge plus!
